Havana, Nov 30 (ACN) The president of the Cuban Parliament Esteban Lazo Hernandez granted in Moscow the Solidarity Order to Valentina Matvienko, chair of the Federation Council (senate) of Russia’s Federal Assembly.
Previously, Lazo and Matvienko held talks at the Russian parliament and ratified their willingness to expand interparliamentary relations, according to a report by the Cuban Parliament.
As part of his working agenda on Wednesday, the Cuban top legislator spoke at the Federation Council and paid tribute at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, in the Russian capital.
Lazo also held talks with the chair of the Russian state Duma (lower house of parliament) Vyacheslav Volodin. The two parliamentarians penned a memo to set up a high-level commission for inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Russia has been the first leg of a tour by Esteban Lazo which also includes Belarus and Türkiye.
