HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 30 (ACN) Esteban Lazo Hernandez, president of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (Parliament), met today with Russian parliamentary authorities while paying an official visit to the Russian Federation.
The Cuban leader met with the leader of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, and addressed the plenary session of the Russian deputies. He also spoke with Vyacheslav Volodin, president of the State Duma, about the good status of the relations between the governments and parliaments of Cuba and Russia. Both parties signed the act of constitution of the Commission for Cooperation between the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the National Assembly of People's Power of the Republic of Cuba, and agreed to hold their first session in February 2023 in Havana.
On Wednesday, the Cuban delegation paid tribute to those fallen in the war at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, located in front of the Kremlin walls.
Today, Lazo Hernandez will present Valentina Matvienko with the Order of Solidarity awarded by the President of the Republic of Cuba at the proposal of the Council of State.
