HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 27 (ACN) Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel held a meeting on Saturday with Turkish businessmen convened by DEIK, the Business Diplomacy Organization that manages the foreign economic relations of the Turkish private sector.
The Presidency informed on Twitter that the meeting was held during the Cuban president's transit stopover in Istanbul, a city in Türkiye, before returning to Cuba.
The dialogue was aimed at promoting ideas and projects to increase the relationship between Turkish businessmen and Cuba, the tweet added.
Diaz-Canel referred to the potential of the Mariel Special Development Zone, which is intended to become the main beacon of attraction of foreign investment in the country.
As part of the exchange Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, explained the portfolio of opportunities and its potentialities for the foreign sector.
The Cuban head of state and the high-level delegation accompanying him arrived in Istanbul after concluding his official visit to China, the last stop of his international tour of countries in Asia, Africa and Europe.
