HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 24 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel is in China on an official visit in response to an invitation from his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping.
The Cuban high-level delegation arrived in Beijing from Türkiye, the third stop of an international tour that also included Algeria and the Russian Federation.
This week the Chinese Foreign Ministry remarked that President Diaz-Canel's visit would give fresh impetus to the development of bilateral ties and strengthen the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
Spokeswoman Mao Ning stressed that China and Cuba are “good friends, good comrades and good brothers”, and referred to the Island as the first in its region to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic. Since then, she added, the two States have worked together in the construction of socialism with local characteristics and supported each other in matters of mutual interest, despite the changes in the international scenario.
