HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 23 (ACN) “We have plenty of reasons to be happy,” Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel said after his official visit to the Russian Federation and Algeria as part of an ongoing international tour that he has described as a sign that Cuba is not alone and has much to offer and share with its allies.
“This tour is definitely going well and paving the way for the ties of friendship and cooperation that we urgently need to forge a better future in this long-suffering planet,” he added while on his way to Türkiye, his next stop.
Díaz-Canel referred to his meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin as a conversation between friends and presidents of countries undergoing great pressures and sanctions and to the main results of his visit, namely scholarship programs for young Cubans, oil prospecting, cultural exchange and electric power production, among others.
