Díaz-Canel begins work program during visit to Türkiye



HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 23 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez began today his work program on the first of his two-day official visit to Türkiye as part of an international tour of countries in Africa, Europe and Asia that started in Algeria, followed by Russia, and will finish in China.
 
The president reported that he met with friends of the local Cuba solidarity movement, whom he gave an update on the effects of the intensified U.S. blockade and imposed by the United States and thanked for their activity in support of the Island.
 
 Díaz-Canel visited the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, leader of the War of Independence and founder and first President of the Republic of Türkiye. His agenda also includes a meeting with his counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as well as other appointments intended to strengthen economic and political ties between both countries in the context of the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between both countries, marked by mutual respect, solidarity and cooperation for the benefit of their peoples.
 
 This international program of visits to honor the invitations made by the leaders of the four nations aims to address issues of the utmost importance to Cuba, especially related to the field of energy.
