HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 22 (ACN) The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, paid tribute to Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, at the monument dedicated to his memory unveiled today in Moscow.
The Presidency published on Twitter images of the moment when both leaders inaugurated in a solemn ceremony the sculpture located in the Sokol district.
The wreath of red roses reportedly bore the following words: to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, from the people of Cuba.
The Russia Today TV channel explained that the monument was created over half a year in bronze and is a three-meter high, it also depicts Castro Ruz in military uniform on a rock on which the map of the Caribbean island is inscribed.
Diaz-Canel concludes Tuesday his official visit to Russia as part of his international tour in which Turkey and China remain to be visited.
