HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 21 (ACN) The first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) Central Committee and president of the country, Miguel Diaz-Canel, had a meeting today with the secretary general of the Communist Party of Russia, Guennadi Andrèyevich Ziugànov, as part of the official visit of a high-level delegation from the island to the Eurasian nation.
The Presidency reported on Twitter that in the exchange Diaz-Canel expressed to Ziuganov the gratitude of his Party for the support to the Cuban cause, and conveyed to the Russian communist leader a fraternal greeting from Army General Raul Castro.
According to Prensa Latina, Diaz-Canel also invited Ziugànov to the event on the world balance to be held in Havana in January 2023.
The Cuban delegation arrived in Russia on Saturday 19 from Algeria, where it began an international tour that will also include Turkey and China.
According to Cuban authorities, the tour responds to invitations made by the leaders of these countries, and aims to address essential issues for the Caribbean nation, mainly related to the electro-energy sector.
