HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 14 (ACN) Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban foreign minister, rejected today the renewal of unilateral coercive measures imposed by the European Union (EU) against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The foreign minister said on Twitter that these regulations harm the welfare of the Venezuelan people and are contrary to the International Law that governs the responsibilities of States.
Last November 11, the European Union communicated its decision to extend the restrictive measures against the South American country until 2023.
Through an official statement, the Venezuelan foreign ministry condemned the unhealthy policy of resorting to these tools of political blackmail, contrary to democratic principles and human rights.
According to the text, the Venezuelan people and government will insist on continuing the defense of its sovereignty based on its constitutional principles, reaffirming at all times its independence conquered more than 200 years ago.
