HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 11 (ACN) Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban foreign minister, ratified today Cuba's commitment to the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), in a meeting with Vincent Bagiire, permanent secretary of the ministry of foreign affairs of Uganda.
As reported by the Cuban minister on Twitter, during the meeting he reaffirmed his country's support for the upcoming Ugandan presidency at the head of the NAM, starting in November 2023.
Both parties confirmed the will to continue deepening the unity of this grouping of States and promoting solidarity and international cooperation.
Cuba was the first Latin American state to become a member of the NAM, in 1961, and held the presidency of the organization on two occasions, from 1979 to 1983 and from 2006 to 2009.
