Havana, Nov 8 (ACN) The president of Vietnam’s parliament Vuong Dinh Hue stressed the recent victory of Cuba at the UN General Assembly after the majority of the international community backed the island’s resolution against the US economic, commercial and financial blockade.
Upon welcoming a Cuban parliamentary delegation in the capital Haoni, the Vietnamese top lawmaker also underscored his country’s support of Cuba against the unilateral US policy.
Cuban Parliament secretary Homero Acosta agreed with Dinh Hue in the significance of preserving and promoting the example and legacy of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and Vietnamese leader Ho Chi Minh among the new generations of Cubans and Vietnamese, according to PL news agency.
They also marked the commemorations in September 2023 of the 50th anniversary of the visit by Fidel Castro to Vietnam, then under war.
The Vietnamese parliamentary expressed his wish to visit Cuba and to keep up working meetings with Cuban lawmakers. He also conveyed greetings to Army General Raul Castro, President Miguel Diaz-Canel, and Premier Manuel Marrero.
The Cuban delegation held talks with the general secretary and head of the parliament office Bui Van. They also toured the Literature Temple, a cultural relic considered the most important of its kind in Hanoi.
On Wednesday, the Cuban delegates are scheduled to attend debates of the Fourth Session of the 15th Legislature of the Vietnamese Parliament and as of Thursday, they will travel to the provinces of Da Nang and Can Tho to conclude their working visit Saturday in Ho Chi Minh City.
