Venezuelan president highlights collaboration agreement with Cuba



 HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 7 (ACN) Nicolas Maduro, president of Venezuela, praised the Comprehensive Collaboration Agreement with Cuba, and called on the two nations to continue working together for every medical issue.

During a visit to the Maria Genoveva Guerrero Ramos Integral Diagnostic Center (CDI), one of the 40 recently rehabilitated ones in Caracas, the president celebrated the 22nd anniversary of the strategic agreement.

For her part,the Venezuelan minister of people' s power for health, Magaly Gutierrez, explained that improvements at the CDI, such as the repair of the tomograph, were the result of electro-medical technicians trained in Cuba and then in Venezuela.

Upon reopening the Center, the Head of State reiterated that the health of the people is a priority for his Government, and said that the people can count on the quality of the service provided by these facilities, as well as by the outpatient clinics.

Members of the executive branch, the Cuban ambassador to Venezuela, Dagoberto Rodriguez Barrera, collaborators and directors of the island's social missions also took part in the tour.

The Cuba-Venezuela Integral Collaboration Agreement was signed on October 30, 2000, by Commanders Fidel Castro (1926-2016) and Hugo Chávez (1954-2013), with the purpose of strengthening bilateral ties and complementing integration efforts in favor of Latin America and the Caribbean.

According to official data, as of October last year, 1,487 cooperation projects had been developed between the two nations, and some 255,000 Cuban collaborators rendered services in the South American country.
