HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 31 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel met with several Italian businessmen and personalities to continue strengthening relations between the two countries and thanked them for their interest in investing in Cuba.
The Italians in turn stressed the importance of friendship and willingness to help, remarking that they had not come to Cuba to criticize anything, but to find solutions.
Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, who also attended the meeting, ratified the Italians that Cuba is open to suggestions for investment.
Relations between the two nations have been strengthened in recent times, as evidenced by the August 21 meeting between Diaz-Canel and Marcos Papacci, president of the National Association of Italy-Cuba Friendship (ANAIC), whom the Cuban head of state thanked for ANAIC’s support to the island in the fight against anti-Cuban demonstrations and for its assistance following the tragic fire in the province of Matanzas.
