HAVANA, Cuba, May 10 (ACN) Chinese president, Xi Jinping, expressed his condolences for the recent accident at the Saratoga Hotel in Havana, in a message to his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Diaz-Canel.
According to Prensa Latina, the Chinese president expressed his consternation after learning about the tragedy, which occurred last May 6, with a death toll of at least 40 people.
He also extended condolences on behalf of his government and the people of China, and on his own behalf, to the families of the victims and the injured.
Last Saturday, the foreign ministry of that Asian country expressed its support to Cuba in a moment it described as sad.
The mayor and deputy secretary of the Chinese communist party in Beijing, Chen Jining, also sent a message of condolences to the governor of Havana, Reinaldo Garcia Zapata, regarding the accident.
