HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 17 (ACN) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez wrote on Twitter that the European Parliament has no moral authority to accuse Cuba of violating human rights.
In his tweet, the Foreign Minister stressed that the attitude of the Europarliament reveals its link with the destabilizing plans against Cuba promoted from the United States.
"The Europarliament has no moral authority to condemn #Cuba when it ignores serious and flagrant violations of HR in many places, particularly in the US and Europe. It reveals its link with destabilizing plans vs our country, promoted with US federal funds," he posted.
The right wing of the European Parliament convened for this day a debate on "the situation in Cuba" as part of its December plenary session.
In the last three such exchanges, the European Parliament has debated Cuba, making the island nation the only country in Latin America and the Caribbean that has been discussed so much in that period of time.
This demonstrates the manipulation of the human rights issue and the double standards of those who use it with a markedly political background.
