UNESCO Director-General receives Cuban Foreign Trade Minister



HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 15 (ACN) The director general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Audrey Azoulay, received this Wednesday the Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca.

In his Twitter account, Malmierca stressed that the Cuban delegation congratulated the UNESCO leader on her re-election, and highlighted the good progress of bilateral cooperation.

Likewise, he indicated that they appreciated the support of the international organization to Cuba in the rejection of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the Island.

"We were received in #UNESCO by Director General @Audreyazoulay whom we congratulate on her re-election. We thanked the organization's support to #Cuba in rejection of the blockade and highlighted good cooperation progress. #CubaVive #NoMasBloqueo @MINCEX_CUBA," Malmierca tweeted.

According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry's website Cubaminrex, during the cordial and positive exchange, the high-ranking representatives reviewed issues of bilateral relations between the country and the Organization, especially the various joint cooperation projects underway.

The text adds that it was also an opportunity to ratify the willingness of both parties to strengthen and enhance the historic ties of cooperation between Cuba and UNESCO, in the framework of the 75th anniversary of the entry of our country to the Organization.
