Cuba Reaffirms Commitment to the Eurasian Economic Union

Havana, Dec 13 (ACN) Cuba’s first deputy foreign minister Marcelino Medina affirmed his country’s commitment to the Eurasian Economic Union and its political willingness of the Cuban government to consolidate economic, commercial and cooperation links with all member states of that organization.

Medina welcomed Sergei Glazyev, minister for Integration and Macro-economy with the Union at the building hosting the Cuban Foreign Ministry in Havana. Glazyev is paying a visit to the island to attend the Cuba-Eurasian Economic Union Second Joint Session.

The Cuban government officials thanked the Union for guaranteeing the virtual participation of Cuba at the Eurasian Supreme and Intergovernmental Councils, held in 2021.

The two sides will sign a Joint Collaboration Plan for the 2021-2025 term, which includes the implementation of projects in several economic and social areas, such agriculture and industry, biotechnology, sports, communications and others.
