HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 29 (ACN) The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC by its Spanish acronym) sent a congratulatory message to the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of its founding, this June 28, Cuban foreign ministry noted today.
According to Cubaminrex, the message of the PCC conveys its warmest congratulations and wishes it success in the battles for the well-being and future development of that Asian nation.
Cubaminrex salso said that the Cuban statement highlights the work of the CPP, which has rightly led the destinies of that nation, managing to maintain peace, lead the process of national reconciliation and lead with certainty the reconstruction and development of the country.
Cuba and Cambodia highly appreciate the defense of national sovereignty and independence, not only because of the countless lives and sacrifices that have cost its conquest, but also because it defines our right to self-determination, the statement expressed.
In the international arena, both nations share common positions, particularly in the framework of the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement, of which both the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and the Cambodian King Father, Norodom Sihanouk, were founders, it added.
During these six decades of friendship and mutual solidarity, the parties of the two nations have worked on the strengthening of bilateral relations and have proposed to continue building them for the benefit of the people.
Likewise, the PCC expressed its gratitude to the Cambodian party and people for their support to the struggle against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the government of the United States on Cuba.
