HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 28 (ACN) The number of solidarity committees and organizations, political parties and people from around the world who support Cuba and reject the U.S. Cuba policy of restrictions on and interference in the Cuban Revolution increases every day.
The Malian Association of Friendship with the Peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean issued an official communiqué today in Bamako to decry the inclusion of Cuba on the list of State sponsors of terrorism, an action described as a political farce, and praise the values of the Cuban Revolution and its support for African countries in their struggles for independence, Cubaminrex reports.
The Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba in the Senate of Argentina also expressed its repudiation of the decision of former U.S. President Donald Trump to describe the Caribbean nation as a promoter of terrorism and reiterate the Group’s solidarity with our people, who know that they are owners of their free and sovereign decisions. Likewise, the Committee of Solidarity with Cuba in Suriname urged the new U.S. administration of Democrat Joe Biden to favor understanding and good relations with Cuba.
The unfair presence of Cuba on this list has served in recent years to intensify the application of the financial measures of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the White House, further strengthened under the government of the previous Republican president.
In 2015, as part of his policy of rapprochement with Cuba, President Barack Obama removed Havana from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, declaring that half a century of U.S. efforts to isolate the Cuban people had been a failure.
