Cuba advocates for multilateralism at EUROLAT plenary session

HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 6 (ACN) Cuban deputy Luis Morlote, president of the National Association of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC), called for cooperation and multilateralism in a session of the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly (EUROLAT).

In the 13th plenary session of EUROLAT, which is held virtually, Morlote commented on Cuba's work in confronting COVID-19 despite the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States.
Likewise, he highlighted the solidarity work of the Cuban medical brigades, which are part of the Henry Reeve internationalist contingent and that fight the new coronavirus pandemic in various nations, the Cuban embassy in Belgium published in its official website.
During the day, the role of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in the integration of Latin America was also subject of debate, especially in times of the fight against this disease.
The EUROLAT is an international body composed of 150 parliamentarians from European and Latin American countries, created in 2006, which meets in four permanent committees.
