HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 27 (ACN) The Nobel Peace Prize winner Adolfo Perez Esquivel, a prominent Argentine social activist and painter, made his proposal to the Norwegian Committee for the award of that distinction to the Henry Reeve Internationalist Contingent of Cuban doctors.
The also defender of human rights presented before the aforementioned committee the candidacy of the Cuban physicians for the Nobel Peace Prize 2021, for the outstanding and noble work that they have been carrying out for years, especially in these times of pandemic, according to Prensa Latina news agency.
According to the Committee, the proposals must be sent prior to January 31 and presented by those who hold this condition or parliamentarians and ministers, university professors or current or past members of the Committee.
In this sense, last October 12, French deputy François-Michel Lambert also made official before the Norwegian Nobel Committee the request of organizations and citizens of that country to award the distinction to the Cuban doctors.
From many parts of the world, dozens of personalities and solidarity committees with Cuba have raised their voices in favor of the granting of this prize to the Cuban health professionals, who since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic have provided their solidarity aid worldwide.
