HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 9 (ACN) Nicaragua's Asociacion Amigos de Cuba (Association of Friends of Cuba) denounced the new American campaign against the Caribbean island, by including it in a controversial watch list on alleged religious freedom.
The document released in Managua by that solidarity organization describes as illegitimate the report issued by the US Department of State in its permanent manipulation of the issue on human rights.
The text recalls that the National Council of Churches (NCC) of that country recognized on July 30 the existing religious freedom in Cuba and criticized the Trump administration for keeping the country on the spurious list.
Cuba includes in its Constitution that 'everyone has the right to profess or not religious beliefs, to change them and to practice the religion of their choice, with due respect for others and in accordance with the law, the statement highlights.
Likewise, it points out that actions such as the permanent discrediting of Havana by the White House only lead to reinforcing the rise in its interference policy that engulfs two nearby peoples by hatred.
