Venezuelan FM highlights contribution of Cuban medical collaboration in his country

HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 18 (ACN) Jorge Arreaza, Venezuelan Foreign Minister, highlighted the contribution of medical collaboration in his nation thanks to which millions of lives have been saved through the Barrio Adentro Mission, promoted by Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro since 2003.

Arreaza described Cuba's physicians as heroes during the reception of a new medical brigade from the Caribbean island that will provide support to contain the COVID-19 epidemic, according to Granma newspaper.
He pointed out that while the US government intends to promote war and sanction on those governments that request Cuba's help in health matters during the pandemic, the largest island of the Antilles is committed to solidarity and enhances its scientific knowledge.
Arreaza said that in the context of the health crisis, Cuba and Venezuela continue to deepen their ties of friendship and cooperation and continue to fulfill the dreams of their historical leaders, Castro and Chavez.
Around four thousand Cuban doctors have been deployed to more than 35 countries to reinforce public attention against the COVID-19 epidemic.
Thanks to this humanist work, personalities, political leaders and solidarity movements around the world advocate for the awarding of the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize to the Henry Reeve contingent, founded in 2005 by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro.
