HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 3 (ACN) Cuban foreign minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla expressed today his condolences on the death of Puerto Rican independence leader Rafael Cancel Miranda.
The head of Cuban diplomacy wrote on Twitter: "It is with deep regret that we learned of the death of the recognized fighter for independence of #PuertoRico and great friend of #Cuba, Rafael Cancel Miranda. Our heartfelt condolences to the people of Puerto Rico, his family and loved ones.
Rafael Cancel Miranda, born July 18, 1930 in Mayaguez, was a poet and Puerto Rican independence leader, a relevant figure in the fight for Puerto Rican independence during the 20th century.
