HAVANA, Cuba, August 21 (ACN) Cuba's mixed team placed seventh in the technical routine for artistic swimming at the 2nd Pan American Games in Asuncion.
The team, comprised of Talia de Jesus Joa, Alejandra Molina, Idaili Diaz, Analia Cabrera, Yenisleydis Rodriguez, Ana Carla Gonzalez, Berglis Rivera, Nelkis Sanchez, and Jose Carlos Borges, finished with a score of 135.6883 points.
At the Olympic Park Aquatic Center, the Cuban team only outperformed Venezuela (134.5125 points); while Mexico (251.9950 points), the United States (237.0475), and Chile (229.6350) led the pack.
The women's and mixed duets also performed the technical routine, placing the Caribbean nation twelfth and fifth, respectively.
Idailis Diaz and Alejandra Molina scored 173.3575 points, while the Talia-Jose Carlos duo earned 117.5333 points, placing last.
According to the continental competition's official website, the free routine for the women's and mixed doubles, and the mixed team, is scheduled for this Friday, with the first two events determining medals.
