HAVANA, Cuba, August 11 (ACN) Cubans Melany Abreu and Adianet Lopez finished fourth and sixth, respectively, in the 10-meter Air Pistol event at the 2025 2nd Junior Pan American Games in Asuncion, Paraguay.
Abreu, accumulated a total of 174.1 points during her seven series of shots, with scores of 48.8, 46.8, 20.0, 18.6, 19.0, 20.9, and 17.3.Meanwhile, Adianet Lopez, Abreu's teammate, finished sixth with a total of 148.6 points, after five series of shots with scores of 48.3, 49.4, 18.2, 18.9, and 13.8.
The gold medal went to US Sumam Sanghera, who won for the second time in this type of multi-sport event, having reigned supreme at Cali-Valle 2021.Sanghera set a new record for the competition final, totaling 237.2 points.
Mexican Sofía Ibarra won silver with 237.0 points, while Argentine Josefina Mella got bronze.
Among the men, Cuban Carlos Herrera placed fifteenth.
