HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 10 (ACN) The Cuban pair Noslen Diaz and Jorge Luis Alayo will make its debut today in the 2025 Beach Pro Tour Elite 16, held in Saquarema, Brazil.
The island's top duo will have their first match opposite the Portuguese Joao Nuno Pedrosa and Hugo Campos.
Diaz and Alayo, who are ninth in the world ranking alongside the Polish Bartosk Losiak–Michal Bryl, went medal-less in the 2024 Olympic Games, but had an outstanding performance recognized by fans and specialists alike in Paris, where they finished in ninth place.
As to this year, they won the gold medal in the Elite 16 competition held in Quintana Roo, Mexico, and finished fifth in the strong Challenger tournament of Yucatan, Mexico, opener of the World Beach Volleyball Pro Tour 2025.
The Cubans will also be in the Elite 16 in Brasilia, Brazil (April 17) and other competitions on the road to the World Championships scheduled to be held in Adelaide, Australia, on November 14 to 23.
