HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 2 (ACN) The four Cuban divers who will compete in the qualifying tournament hosted by Medellín, Colombia, on May 11 to 18 are stepping up their training, intended as they are to earn a place in the Junior Pan American Games, to be held in Asuncion, Paraguay, on August 9 to 23 this year.
They recently participated in the Eurasian Cup organized in the Russian city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, where they won two medals (silver and bronze) in the 10m platform event and secured a sixth and an eight place in the 3m springboard.
Cuba won one silver and four bronze medals in the 2024 Eurasian Cup.
The 2025 Pan Am Games in Paraguay will serve to measure Cuba’s potential for 2028 and 2032 Olympic cycles, as well as to establish which athletes are fit to compete in Los Angeles 2028.
