Cuban Erick Hernandez to seek new world record

HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 1 (ACN) Ball dominator Erick Hernandez will try this Saturday, April 5, to surpass 10 hours of uninterrupted dominance using only his feet and head, without the support of his thighs.

The challenge will start at 8:00 a.m. at the Copacabana Hotel, located on Havana's coastline, the athlete himself confirmed to the Cuban News Agency.

At 58 years old and with more than three decades of universal records, Hernandez, known as "El Dominador" (The Dominator), aspires to write a new chapter in his career.

Every attempt is a physical and mental challenge, but I'm still motivated to push my limits to a higher and higher point, said the former soccer player, a graduate in Physical Culture and holder of more than 30 global records, several of them endorsed by the Guinness Book of Records.

Despite his age, he maintains an impressive pace: in 2024 he set five world records, including the 1:15:03.81 hour seated head domination with three-kilogram ankle weights, beating his own February 2023 mark of 1:12:05 hours.

In addition, on October 12 he achieved 13,985 touches in one hour using feet, head and thighs, and on November 17 he completed 10 kilometers in the Marabana Race while dominating the ball.

Hernandez does not stop; for 2025 he announced challenges with tennis balls and more complex modalities, seeking not only to beat time records, but also to reinvent the discipline, he asserted.
