Professional boxing program in Varadero to feature six bouts



HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 31 (ACN) The professional boxing event on April 11 in the Cuban resort of Varadero will feature six bouts, with a 12-round bout for Julio Cesar La Cruz (101.6 kilograms) and the debut of Yakelin Estornell (66.6 kg) in four rounds, to be held at the Melia Internacional Hotel with the support of the AGON Sports promoter.

The digital edition of the sports publication JIT reported today that it was officialized by the latest news received, the completion of the pairing between men, the definition of the number of rounds for them and the inclusion of a fight for women.

The statement offered by the Cuban Boxing Federation specifies that the two-time Olympic champion Julio Cesar La Cruz will fight 12 rounds against Dilan Prasovic from Montenegro in the awaited night.

JIT added that the other bouts in the men's division will be 10 rounds, with Cuba also represented by two-time Olympic champion Arlen Lopez, the reigning Olympic champion Erislandy Alvarez and three-time Olympic gold medalist and five-ring bronze medalist Lazaro Alvarez.

There will be two visitors who will be in the other bout in the men's division, while in the women's division, the hostess and Central Caribbean bronze medalist Yakelin Estornell, who will be making her debut in such scenarios as the opponent of the Dominican Republic's Lina Tejeda.
