HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 30 (ACN) The 18-year-old world rapid chess champion Volodar Murzin, from Russia, will be one of the five members of the Elite group of the international chess tournament Capablanca in Memoriam, scheduled to be held in Cuba's Varadero Beach resort on May 9 to 19.
Alongside Murzin will be Carlos Daniel Albornoz (Cuba), Jonas Buhl-Bjerre (Denmark), Arseniy Nesterov (Russia) and Evgeny Romanov (Macedonia).
The names were confirmed by Carlos Rivero, president of the Cuban Chess Federation, who remarked that the decision to summon only five players intends to keep the high level of the competition's Elite sector.
