HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 28 (ACN) Cuban divers Carlos Daniel Ramos and Bernardo Arias Peña debuted with the silver medal in the synchronized platform of the 2025 Eurasian Cup, with headquarters in the Russian city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and the participation of 40 ornamentalists from six countries.
Hugo Perez de Corcho, head coach of the national team, informed the Cuban News Agency that Ramos and Arias won the silver medal on Thursday with 389 points, their best score.
Perez de Corcho added that Frank Abel Rosales advanced to the final of the three-meter springboard with the fifth place with 372 units, but finished in sixth place.
This Friday, Cuba will be in action with Marta Castañeda in the three-meter springboard, while Ramos and Arias will compete in the 10-meter platform in the individual all-around.
The nations present are Russia, with its main figures, Belarus, Armenia, Ecuador, Argentina and Cuba, so the specialists expect a good competition.
The disciples of Perez de Corcho and Peña are looking forward to the qualifying tournament, from May 11 to 18 in Medellin, Colombia, where they will seek quotas for the Junior Pan American Games in Asuncion, scheduled to take place from August 9 to 23.
The multi-sport event in the Paraguayan capital will evaluate the reserve for the 2028 and 2032 Olympic cycles, in addition, it will allow to detect athletes with potential to participate in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
