HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 25 (ACN) Cuba's national team was eliminated from the preliminaries of the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup after losing 0-4 to Trinidad & Tobago, host of the decisive second leg at the Ato Boldon Stadium.
With ten players on the field after defender Romario Torres earned a red card, the Cubans could not prevent the locals from putting four goals past them to take their second defeat, since they had lost 1-2 the first match that both teams held on March 22 in the city of Santiago de Cuba.
In statements to the press, Team Cuba’s head coach Yunielys Castillo said that the expulsion threw them off balance but did not justify their poor performance, marked by recurring tactical and mental errors.
