HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 25 (ACN) The Panam Sailing, continental entity of this sport, granted another quota to Cuba for the Junior Pan American Games of Asuncion 2025, and now has three, since it previously won two in the Mayan Wind Fest tournament in Cancun, Mexico, held in January.
The new ticket was in the men's iQFOIL class, since the host country, Paraguay, from August 9 to 23, decided not to attend in that modality, according to a letter sent by that entity to the Cuban Olympic Committee.
Thus, Miguel Angel Abad Diaz will be able to attend the Paraguayan multisport event after getting the eighth place in Cancun, a result that was not enough to reach the place by his own right.
Important in the determination were the skills and talent shown to the specialists to navigate and maneuver the difficult modality.
Cuba had already secured its presence in the multisport competition in the Formula Kite for men with Adriano Castro Ortiz, and the ILCA for women, with Libetzy Rojo, and is now waiting for the ILCA 7 for men, so Cuban sailing could participate with four boats.
