HAVANA, Cuba, Oct 23 (ACN) Cuba’s Javier Alexander Rawlins (86 kg) will make his debut today in the 2024 World Youth Boxing Championships, which gather 593 fighters (413 men and 180 women) from 73 countries in Budva, Montenegro, against the Turkish Nege Huseyi Tekdemir.
Bent on improving its performance in La Nucia, Spain, in 2022—two gold, one silver and three bronze medals—Cuba participates with another seven male athletes, namely Angel Manuel Sober (48 kg), Kevin Alejandro Sanchez (54 kg), Yojader Fuentes (57 kg), Yoelvis Leyan Tejera (63.5 kg), David Manuel Espinosa (67 kg), Yurisniel Abreu (75 kg) and Jorge Luis Mayeta (80 kg).
The organizers announced three sessions per day until the quarterfinals on October 29-30, the semifinals in October 31, and the finals on October 2-3.
