HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 25 (ACN) Cuba will compete in eight divisions at the Youth World Boxing Championships, to be held from October 22 through to November 3 in Budva, Montenegro and expected to gather more than 300 competitors from 50 countries.
The Cuban Boxing Federation announced the names of Angel Manuel Sober (48 kg), Kevin Alejandro Sanchez (54 kg), Yojander Fuentes (57 kg), Yoelvis Leyan Tejera (63.5 kg), David Manuel Espinosa (67 kg), Yurisniel Abreu (75 kg), Jorge Luis Mayeta (80 kg) and Javier Alexander Rawlins (86 kg).
In the 2022 championships in Nucia, Spain, Cuba won two gold, one silver and three bronze medals to round off a historical 79-23-31 medal tally in 21 editions of this tournament in which the island has finished first on eleven occasions.
