HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 25 (ACN) On September 7 to 9, the Cuban beach volleyball pairs of Damian Gomez-Eblis Veranes and Maykelin Drik-Mileidy Paret will compete in the U23 NORCECA Beach Tour in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, a qualifier for the 2nd Junior Pan Am Games Asuncion 2025.
Their head coaches, Walfrido Salas and Iván Anibal Dipoté, hold Cuba’s main contenders will be U.S.A., Canada and Mexico, without discarding Puerto Rico, Costa Rica and the host team.
Salas, the men’s coach, said that Gomez and Veranes, considered as the island’s second best pair, are well prepared, taking into account that they have seen action in tournaments held in Morocco and Russia in which they competed with world-class players.
