HAVANA, Cuba, Sep 12 (ACN) Cuba's men's team will compete in the 9th U23 Pan American Volleyball Cup, to be held in Paramaribo, Suriname.
Team Cuba is in Pool A along with Costa Rica, Mexico and the Dominican Republic, whereas Guatemala, Peru, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the host Suriname are in Pool B.
Cuba and the Dominican Republic were first and second in the 2023 tournament and earned their berths to the Junior Pan American Games in Asuncion, Paraguay in 2025.
Two direct tickets for the 2025 Junior Pan American Games will be granted to the top placed NORCECA teams in the final ranking of the event who are not yet qualified.
Cuba has won the event in three occasions since its inception in 2012, beating Mexico in 2014 and 2018 and the Dominican Republic last year. Argentina, Brazil and Mexico have one gold medal each.
