Havana, Sept 3 (ACN) Javelin thrower Guillermo Varona contributed Cuba its third gold medal at the Paralympic Games in Paris.
Varona, World champ at Kobe 2024 took his first gold at Santiago de Chile 2023 Para-Pan-Am games with the record of the Americas and personal score of 66.14, leaving behind Indian Singh Ajeet (65.62) and Sundar Singh Guriar (64.96).
Mexican Eliezer Gabriel took the fourth position after scoring 61.65 in a field modality for athletes with moderately limited arm movement, PL news agency reported.
Varona’s medal joins another two taken by Cuban athletes like long jumper Yankiel Sol and runner Omara Duran in 400 meters.lc
