HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 28 (ACN) Omara Durand and Robiel Yankiel Sol will carry the Cuban flag today at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paralympic Games, to be stated at Paris’s Place de la Concorde and the Champs Elysées.
Omara and Robiel, world record holders and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic champions, will lead the Cuban delegation in the parade scheduled to start at the Arc de Triomphe with the expected presence of 4,400 athletes from 182 countries in a three-hour-long ceremony that the organizers have described as “inclusive” and “spectacular”
Omara is the favorite to secure a hat trick of gold medals in the 100m, 200m and 400m T12 events. If she does, she will boast 11 titles at this level secure Paris 2024 will give her r she would reach 11 titles at this level, whereas Robiel will seek his second one in long jump.
