HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 21 (ACN) Cuba lost 1-3 to U.S.A. on the third day of Pool B in the 21st Women’s NORCECA Pan Am Cup, under way in Guanajuato, Mexico, and will be opposite Argentina today.
Team Cuba secured the first set 25-21, but then fell 12-25, 21-25 and 10-25 to the Americans, who outperformed their rivals across the board, namely in attacks (53-39), blocks (7-5), and serving (11-4), with 20 unforced errors compared to Cuba’s 25.
This was Cuba’s second loss in the tournament, as they lost 2-3 to Puerto Rico on Sunday before they achieved a victory over Costa Rica in straight sets the following day.
