PARIS, France, Aug 7 (ACN) Cuban José Ramón Pelier will be in the quarterfinals of the C1 1000m event of the 2024 Olympic Games.
Pelier, who won the gold medal in the 2023 Pan American Games held in Santiago de Chile, failed to make it directly to the semifinals after finishing third in the first qualifying heat with a time of 3:52.17 min.
His heat was dominated by Poland's Wiktor Glazunow (3:48.40 min), followed by independent athlete Zakhar Petrov (3:49.86 min).
