Cuban Yariulvis Cobas, third at E final and Reidy Cardona last at D final in Olympic rowing

PARIS, Aug 2 (ACN) Cuban Yariulvis Cobas finished third today in the final E of the women's single sculls, corresponding to the Olympic Games rowing, with headquarters in this city until next August 11.

At the Vaires-Sur-Marne Nautical Stadium, Cobas, two-time Pan American champion in the double sculls, achieved a time of 7:57.99 minutes (min), to finish in 27th place in this competition, among 32 rowers.

Ahead of her in that heat came Algeria's Nihed Benchadli (7:54.25 min) and Kathleen Noble (7:56.10 min), from Uganda, who took first and second place, respectively, according to the official website of the competition.

Meanwhile, Cuba's Reidy Cardona finished in sixth and last place in the final D of the men's single sculls, corresponding to the Olympic Games rowing.

Cardona, silver medalist in the double sculls at the Pan American Games of Santiago de Chile 2023, and debutant in Olympic scenarios, set a time of 7:03.23 minutes (min) after completing the 2,000 meters, according to the official website of the event.

With this result, the Cuban athlete finished 24th in the competition, among 33 rowers.

That heat was dominated by Quentin Antognelli (6:54.93 min), from Monaco, followed by Chun Chiu Hin (6:56.65 min), from Hong Kong.
