First vice president of Cuban Institute of Sports receives local tennis players

HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 2 (ACN) Raul Fornes Valenciano, first vice president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder by its Spanish acronym) and Reynier Olivera Matos, director of the Branch School of Inder, received on Wednesday night the Cuban tennis players who concluded their performance at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.

In his welcoming remarks at the Jose Marti International Airport, Fornes said, "you played a good role in the competitions even if you did not win, but the Cuban people enjoyed every minute of the performance in which you made the maximum effort for victory".

The Caribbean delegation was headed by Andy Pereira, considered the best Cuban table tennis athlete of all times, who returns to the Greater of the Antilles with his third participation in the Olympic Games and having expressed in Paris, his gratitude to Inder, the Cuban Federation and all the people who have followed his sports career.

Pereira was joined by his teammates Jorge Moise Campos Valdes and Daniela Fonseca Carrazana, along with their coaches, who were grateful for the simple but emotional reception, which also included workers in the capital's air terminal.
