HAVANA, Cuba, May 28 (ACN) Led by Tokyo 2020 finalist Roxana Gomez (400 m), five Cubans will participate in the City of Salamanca Athletics Trophy, to be held on June 1.
Alongside Gómez—member of the Cuban 4x400m relay team that won the World Championships in Poland three years ago—will be Yoandys Lescay (400m), Daily Cooper (800m), and the sprinters Shainer Reginfo and Reinaldo Espinosa (100 m).
Of them, Gómez is the only one already qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games.
These athletes competed last Sunday in the international athletic meeting of Forbach, France, where Gómez and Lescay won their events, whereas Cooper and Reginfo finished third and second, respectively, and Espinosa was fourth.
