HAVANA, Cuba, May 7 (ACN) Cuban divers Anisley Garcia and Prisis Leydi Ruiz traveled to Paris, to compete from May 8 to 11 in a tournament-tryout for the Olympic Games , to be held from July 26 to August 11.
Before leaving last night, Hugo Perez de Corcho, head coach of the national team, told the Cuban News Agency that the 24 divers who have already qualified and those who have the possibility of being added to the list have been invited to the competition.
Perez de Corcho explained that Anisley will be in the three-meter springboard and the 10-meter platform, while Prisis Leydis Ruiz will only be in the three-meter springboard.
Milagros Gonzalez, national commissioner, also traveled to the French capital, where they will have the opportunity to continue their preparation for the Olympic Games pending the official announcement of the final list of World Athletics qualifiers from June 9 to 21.
Anisley and Prisis have good chances of getting the tickets, after their results at the recent World Aquatics Championships in Doha 2024, where they finished 19th in the platform and 16th in the springboard, in that order.
