
HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 12 (ACN) A team of five Cuban divers to compete in the Eurasian Diving Cup in Yekaterinburg 2024, an event to be held March 15-17.
The team is led by Anisley Garcia and Prisis Leydis Ruiz, who are waiting for the confirmation of tickets for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, after the results achieved recently at the World Aquatics Championships in Doha, Qatar.
The group is completed by Carlos Daniel Ramos, Frank Abel Rosales and 16-year-old Bernardo Arias, in his international debut, Hugo Perez de Corcho, head coach of the national team, told the Cuban News Agency (ACN).
He recalled that the awarding of the places for the Paris multisport event for Anisley and Prisis should be announced in June by the World Aquatics.
He also stressed to ACN that they will be arriving to action with little adaptation time and that they intend to compete with the jumps of the high load physical preparation program.
About Arias, Perez de Corcho agreed with recent statements of Milagros Gonzalez, the national commissioner, who explained that they are preparing him for the platform event along with Ramos.
Another detail provided by both in this regard is that it will be an opportunity to get him ready for the youth world championship next November, all thanks to the fact that it is an invitational event, which allowed to include him now to observe the possibility of his inclusion in the adult competitions.
Cuba will attend the Eurasian Cup for the second consecutive year, and that in 2023, in the Russian city of Saratov, Cuba won two silver medals and nine bronze ones.
