HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 26 (ACN) The Cuban Figital Basketball team lost with a close score of 31-32 against Venezuela, in its second presentation at the 1st Future Games to be held in Kazan, Russia.
The team led by Julio Altunaga lost 15-19 in the digital challenge, and although they won 16-13 in the physical game, it was not enough for them to win, as Eric Gutierrez, national director of recreation of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder by its Spanish acronym), told the Cuban News Agency.
With that result, Cuba's representatives will be waiting for duel between Venezuelans and Colombians to know if they will advance to the next round, Gutierrez added.
On Saturday, the Cuban team had a victorious debut in Group B with a 37-25 win over its Colombian counterpart.
Daniel Garcia, captain of the national team, Arlen Zaporta, Andy Castellanos and Ibrahim Echavarria were the protagonists of this historic event, which was held at the Expo Kazan.
The Cuban delegation to this competition is made up of 16 athletes and two coaches, in soccer, competitive programming, beat saber, just dance and the aforementioned basketball.
