HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 18 (ACN) The four Cuban divers who will compete in the World Aquatics Championships, to be held on February 2 to 18 in Doha, Qatar, are speeding up the pace of their preparation.
The main goal of the four athletes—Anisley Garcia, Carlos Daniel Ramos, Prisis Leydis Ruiz and Frank Abel Rosales—is to be among the 12 finalists, which would give them a ticket to the 2024 Olympic Games, where 136 divers will participate.
Garcia and Ramos will compete in the individual 10-meter platform, whereas Ruiz and Rosales will do it in the individual 1-meter and 3-meter springboard.
Cuba’s diving team excelled in the Central American and Caribbean Games of San Salvador 2023, where they won 7 medals (2-3-2), but they went medal-less in the Pan American Games of Santiago 2023.
