HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 4 (ACN) On February 2 to 10, Cuba's top divers will seek their qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games in the World Aquatics Championships, to be held in Doha, Qatar.
Hugo Pérez de Corcho, head coach of the national team, said that Cuba will take four divers to Doha who will compete in the 10m individual platform and the 1m and 3m individual springboard and whose goal will be to be among the 18 semifinalists who will get the ticket to Paris.
Qatar will host swimming, open water swimming, artistic swimming, diving, and water polo tournaments.
Cuban divers won two gold, three silver and two bronze medals in the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, but they went medal-less in the 2023 Pan American Games.
